Kerri's Success Story
"What More Could a Girl Want!"
I started Curves on June 18, 2003. I was at a stage where I was
progressively putting on weight. I loved fast food, and never seemed
to have energy. Then I was diagnosed with Patello-Femoral Syndrome,
which basically means that my knee caps don't sit straight. Carrying
excess weight around was not helping. Because of my lack of energy,
exercise was not something I had really thought about. I knew I was
supposed to exercise, I just couldn't find any I enjoyed and wondered
how I could fit it into my schedule. I had started to see advertisements
for Curves on television, so when my husband and I saw the Curves
booth at a local Art & Wine festival, I signed on to take a look.
Right away I liked the "process" of Curves: a set of machines,
a set amount of time, someone telling you when to move to the next
machine and loud, fun music. The people are lovely and the service
is great. What more could a girl want! I also like the addition of
information and classes on other areas of health and fitness.
As I was not one to exercise at all, Curves has been a life changing
experience. Working out at Curves has given me the confidence to
look at other health issues in my life. I have a number of allergies,
and in January this year I started going to a nutritionist. Changing
my diet has helped with my energy levels and weight loss. I love
that I have more energy and that I want to go out each day for at
least a 30 minute walk. My knees are doing great. Most of all I like
that I now have more variety and selection in the stores where I
can shop for clothes! When I started Curves I was a size 22/24. I
have currently lost 50.5 inches and 38 pounds, and am now a size
18. My current goal is to become less then 200 pounds, and at 207
pounds I am nearly there!
I still look forward to going to Curves . It has become a very important
part of my life. The support I get from the staff and other members
is wonderful. Most of all, I love the comments on how great I look
from my family and friends. I am smaller, I am more toned, and I
love the way I feel. I thoroughly recommend trying Curves to everybody.
